Don't use 3 major runes. Try to have around 500 health.
Have a combo that is fast and have a skill to get in their and to get out. You can use two skills to get in and out. Whatever it takes to get you in the fray, unleash combo, and to get out as fast as possible.
Also bring your critical strikes up to 13 since their already at 12 and 13 is the break point for 3 energy per critical.

never use major runes. only use minor runes and occasionally 1 superior if you need to reach a breakpoint.

What lvl are you?
You don't have 200 attribute points yet.
With 3 major runes, you should have:
CS: 12 (10 + 2)
DM: 14 (11 + 2 +1)
SA: 12 (10 + 2)
Always have a skill that will get you out of harms way (like Return).
As others have said, Minor runes are good, major runes are not.
What is your 2ndary?

1. Minor runes only. Higher your hit points, the less the mobs will gang up on you.
2. Especially against the evil Jade Brotherhood and the foul and disgusting Afflicted, when out with henchmen, start the fight with a no attribute point required longbow. You can find these back on the island. They have a maximum of 11 or 12 damage, not much. But you start the fight with the longbow, and you get the henchmen aggroed. Don't call the target for them, just let them do their thing. Casters will mostly fire their initial spells at the hench, and not you.
Often this takes only two or three shots, but sometimes more. Once the battle is raging switch to daggers using the function keys, and get in and do the assassin thing. And, of course, do not tank. If you're especially lazy, like me, let the hench take down one or two of them. The idea is to let them start the fight, then you go in and finish it for them.
The little no-attrib longbow is one of the most neglected assassin weapons, yet one of the most powerful in PvE. My assassin has finished Factions and Nightfall, and most of Prophecies. He added a shocking bowstring to his just for fun, and a grip of elemental warding +7 which is actually useful.
With all minor runes, my PvE assassin has 9 dagger mastery, 13 critical strikes, 3 deadly arts, 11 shadow arts, and 560 hp. Only 9 dagger mastery works just fine in PvE if you use attack skills from the critical strikes line. It is the skills that do the damage.

No way. Major runes rule dude. I used to have 1 sup dagger rune, but seeing as I PvP I downgraded to a Major which is much better.
I then have 550 hp
and 30 energy.
and this is with like 14 dagger, 13 crit, 7 deadly for a SP build.
anything less than 500/550 really in PvP is bad.
Majors own.

here you go, A/E PvE build ^^
It requires you to cap Mobieus though. You could supplement Palm Strike for Mobieus, as Palm Strike is easily capped.

The only time i ever use majors is for hero headgear to save some cash. other than that the health loss is to much for 2 attribute points.
